‎‎After Denying Her Bond Twice: Finda Bundoo Turns Herself In At Monrovia Central Prison

In a strange twist of events, the former Chief of Protocol to President George Manneh Weah, Ambassador Nora Finda Bundoo, has turned herself in at the Monrovia Central Prison after Criminal Court “C” issued an arrest order for her.

Finda Bundoo, alias Rescue Mother, turned herself in on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. According to information, she arrived at the prison facility only accompanied by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador D. Maxwell Kemeyah. It is reported that she arrived at the prison facility before her lawyers, turned herself to the prison’s guards, but was told there was no writ to send her to prison. It was then that they communicated with the Supreme Court, and a writ was prepared for her incarceration.

The arrest warrant was issued after the Judge of Criminal Court “C”, Ousman F. Feika, determined that the bond filed on her behalf failed to satisfy the US$8 million legal requirement governing her criminal appearance bond, claiming that one of the properties used as surety had already been pledged in 20 other court cases, making it ineligible to secure her release.

Meanwhile, she is expected to remain at the Monrovia Central Prison until she files a criminal appearance bond that meets the court’s approval, which her lawyers say they are working towards.

‎ Bundoo is among several defendants indicted by the Assets Recovery and Property Retrieval Task Force (AREPT) over allegations of corruption involving more than US$6.7 million and L$845 million in public funds allegedly diverted through companies linked to the case.

She faces multiple charges, including money laundering, theft of property, misuse of public funds, criminal conspiracy, forgery, criminal facilitation, and related offenses. She has denied the allegations and, under Liberian law, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
