Stan Chart group CEO to lecture Dar’s business forum
Standard Chartered PLCs Group Chief Executive Officer Peter Sands, one of the highly ranked experts who have been invited to join President Barrack Obama’s delegation to Tanzania, is scheduled to attend a Business Forum and give his perspective on the opportunities to further growth in the Sub-Saharan Africa.

President Obama’s visit to Dar es Salaam today brings together experts from different sectors to discuss various ways of furthering growth in Sub- Saharan region.
According to a statement by StanChart bank in Dar es Salaam, Mr Sands will during his visit meet the bank staff in the country and will also visit some of the bank’s key stakeholders with a view of enhancing the bank’s operations in Tanzania.
At the business forum, the CEO, will give his perspective on the available business opportunities, the challenges that remain and steps to take collectively to expand investment and trade in the region.
Mr Sands was appointed Group CEO of Standard Chartered in 2006 following four years as Group Finance Director, where he had responsibilities for finance, strategy, risk and technology.
During Mr Sands’ tenure as the group CEO, Standard Chartered has successfully navigated the financial crisis without any recourse to government. Standard Chartered is the largest foreign bank across several markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East including Korea, India and Singapore.
